Admin users can set or update card restrictions for both physical and virtual cards at any time through the Bank of Utah Pinnacle dashboard.

2. From the Dashboard, click Cards on the left menu.
3. Select the card you want to manage.
4. On the right side of the page, click the Edit button right next to Restrictions.
5. Choose the Restriction Type. You can apply Merchant Restrictions or Time Restrictions.
Merchant Restrictions
Merchant Restrictions allow you to control where the card can or cannot be used.
1. Toggle between:
Deny Mode – Transactions from merchants with selected MCCs are blocked. Any transaction from these merchants will be declined, while all other transactions will go through as usual. Choose this mode to restrict spending at specific types of merchants.
Allow Mode – Only transactions from selected MCCs are allowed. Any transaction from a merchant with an unselected MCC will be declined. Choose this mode to strictly control where spending is permitted.
2. Click Deny/Allow List.
3. Select the merchant(s) you want to include.
4. Click Save as Draft.
5. Click Confirm and Create.
Note: You can turn Merchant Restrictions ON or OFF at any time by toggling the restriction.
Time Restrictions
Time Restrictions allow you to control when the card can be used.
1. Toggle between:
Deny Mode – All transactions allowed. Added periods will block card usage
Allow Mode – All transactions blocked. The card only works during the added periods
2. Click Deny/Allow List.
3. Set the Start Time and End Time. Or use Custom Recurrence to repeat the schedule.
4. Click Confirm and Create.
Note: You can toggle Time Restrictions ON or OFF anytime.
Important: Be cautious when creating multiple Time Restrictions, as overlapping schedules may cause unintended transaction declines.
